What We've Been Up To...

We have been super busy as of late...thus the lack of blog postings. In short our lives have been crazy trying to obtain our UK visas....but we just got them in the mail, via UPS, tonight! It was a battle with some glitches, but thanks to the good Lord it is all taken care of. So to recap all the other stuff we've been up to here are some picture so the last 2 weeks.

First...Grandma and Grandpa Wall made a short visit to Omaha. We took them to eat at the famous 'California Taco'. Bing had seen it on the Food Network and was interested, and we couldn't believe in all our years in Omaha we hadn't brought them there to eat. Fried taco shells is the key to a genuine 'California' taco. This is a place where calories don't count!

Grandma keeping Alyas busy why we waited for our food.

We visited the park as well so Alyas could run off some energy.

Grandma and Alyas spent time in the sand...Grandma's really know how to play!

During the week I kept trying to pack up some things, make lists, etc. Here is Alyas thwarting my attempts to clean the kitchen. This cabinet is his new hiding spot and play area. Gotta' love this smile even when he's making a mess!

This last Thurday night Aunt Rogene and Uncle Stephen flew in from Texas! We were very happy to see them before we leave for England. It was an unexpected trip and we are so thankful they came. At the river we all hung out and ate lots of great summer foods. Uncle Kinkayde is around a lot too so we have been enjoying him a lot as well this summer!

This week I am home with Alyas and off of work. Brandon is at a philosophy conference at Princeton University. We took off to Ames to see Grandma and Grandpa Wall again. Grandma borrowed some really neat toys and Alyas had his own splash park in the back yard!

Alyas' favorite toy by far....a big boy car just his size!

For fun and games we also put Alyas in some old cowboy boots Grandma had. We thought he would look the cutest in just his diaper and the boots. He didn't know quite what to make of those heavy things and often would stop, bend over to touch the ground, and stick his bottom in the air...guess that was the best way he could think of to check them out.

No cowboy is complete without a horse!

Reading with Grandpa before bed.

On the way home I visited two girl friends from college and they beautiful children. Here is Alyas and Brenna. It looks like he's being a gentleman and giving her a flower but really I think he was just trying to see what reaction he would get if he stuck it up her nose!

Brenna with Steph and baby on the way!

After that a quick stop in Urbandale to see Jen, Caden, and Ashton. All three big boys at at the table and enjoyed great conversation...well kind of. Vocabulary was limited but it was fun all the same.

Jen and her boys!

We are so happy to be able to spend time (no matter how long or short) with friends and family. We will miss you all soooooo much when we are gone!!

Philly, you've got to post the video of Alyas walking with his cowboy boots. Did that turn out? It was good to see you. Bing
