For my first "Writing on the Wall" I thought I would give a brief...very brief summary of our lives up to this point. So to start off Brandon and I have now been married 5 years; we celebrated our anniversary recently June 14th. We have been in Omaha these last five years and have accomplished so much. I graduated with my masters in December of 06 and have been working as a physician assistant in a family practice community health center for a year and a half. Brandon completed his bachelors degree in Omaha and is now getting his masters in philosophy from Southern Evangelical Seminary. He does his school correspondingly. We have now lived in three different places all withing about 10 blocks of each other in the mid-town area.

A big change came to our lives when we decided to start an intentional community. We moved into an old Victorian house in a somewhat rough but charming neighborhood with some of our good friends.
Here is a picture of the place. It is huge! Brandon and I have an apartment on the third floor. The second floor has 5 bedrooms and we all share the down stairs. Communal living has been very interesting, challenging, and fun. We have great stories from the neighborhood and have shared our lives, faith, struggles, and accomplishments with each other. I never thought I would live in such a place but you never know where God will lead you! We call our community affectionately P.A.C. or Park Avenue Community.








I anticipate some of my posts will include stories, pictures, and thoughts on communal life.

The second biggest change to our lives just arrived 4 months ago with the birth of our first child. Alyas William Wall was born on April Fools Day 2008. We all thought the day of his birth was fitting, first, because he bears the "Wall" name, and second because he was supposed to be born a few days earlier. I failed an induction attempt after 13 hours of sitting in the hospital. The day was long, boring, and frustrating. Long story short Alyas was successfully born on April 1 at exactly 8pm. He was a very healthy and strong 8lbs 7oz. He is a pure joy and our biggest blessing so far! He currently is a very happy baby who smiles all the time. One of our friends has given him the nickname "Cheese Ball" which I find very cute. I am sure most of my posts will be about Alyas. Enjoy!
